"I traded in my 2nd gen 2008 Tacoma for a '23 Tacoma SR5 V6. I had already decided to get a tune when I made the trade-in after reading various reviews on the 3rd Gen Tacoma. I initially decided to go with Yotawerx. It solved the gear hunting issue and helped with power delivery but it was very aggressive. When applying the throttle, especially in stop and go traffic, it's very jerky and would throw your body and head back into the seat. It would also hold the gear a little too long, for my liking, and had some hard shifts. When commuting to/ from work in stop and go traffic for an hour it gets a bit tedious trying to feather the throttle in an attempt to stop the throttle jerk, especially after a long day at work. After 4-5 months and a little over 5,000 miles of this I decided to try the OTT tune. I noticed an immediate change in the throttle response. No more jerking when applying the throttle and having to feather the throttle. The shifts are smoother as well. Power delivery is great. No issues with gear hunting. There are quite a few options with throttle settings with OTT so be sure to discuss these with Matt to find what will fit you best. I went with Lite/ Mild setting and it's a perfect fit for me and my driving style and commute. After paying for and trying both tunes I would have to recommend OTT. In my opinion, the throttle response and smoothness in shifting is superior to the Yotawerx tune. I feel like I can relax and enjoy driving the truck instead of focusing on throttle management."
